Bekah Cohen is 22 and lives in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from NC State University in May of 2008 with a degree in Language, Writing, and Rhetoric, and minors in Film and Biology. That's right. A liberal arts degree from NCSU.
Bekah is currently a medical writer working for "The Man" at MediPlay Inc., where she spends her days juggling the pangs of moral dilemma that come from having to shift seamlessly between informing people with life-threatening illnesses of their treatment options, and enthusiastically informing the overweight and unattractive American public how they can choose dangerous elective surgery to enhance their image to a more mutually appreciated one, as opposed to taking a break from McDonald's Monopoly (Which she is surprised no one has commented upon the irony of, yet) and lacing up their boxed sneakers to go for a run. Bekah is aware and unashamed of the length of that sentence.
When Bekah isn't writing, she's most likely playing guitar, drinking coffee, or reading. Some of her favorite authors include Augusten Burroughs, Amy Hempel, David Rakoff, Jonathan Selwood, Gary Shteyngart, Etgar Keret, Bret Easton Ellis, and Chuck Klosterman.
Bekah's middle name is Teal and she doesn't care what you think about it. She also wants you to know that she will never - ever - laugh at your "that's what she said jokes." Even if that's what she actually said...
Bekah will most likely struggle as a writer until her mid-forties, when people will finally stop focusing on her ravishing good looks and begin to focus on her outstanding wit and charmingly honest prose. Until then she'll probably dabble in writing misunderstood comic strips and writing unimpressive chick rock.
